Sub-Lethal Peak Exposure to Insecticides Triggers Olfaction-Mediated Avoidance in Zebrafish Larvae

چکیده

In agricultural areas, insecticides inevitably reach water bodies via leaching or run-off. While designed to be neurotoxic insects, have adverse effects on a multitude of organisms due the high conservation nervous system among phyla. To estimate ecological insecticides, it is important investigate their impact non-target such as fish. Using zebrafish model, we investigated how different classes influence fish behavior and uncovered neuronal underpinnings associated behavioral changes, providing an unprecedented insight into perception these chemicals by We observed that larvae avoid diazinon imidacloprid while showing no response other with same mode action. Moreover, ablation olfaction abolished aversive responses, indicating smelled insecticides. Assessment activity in 289 brain regions showed hypothalamic areas involved stress were largest resembles reactions stimuli threaten homeostasis, changes chemistry. Our results contribute understanding environmental insecticide exposure can help refine acute toxicity assessment.

Histopathological evaluation of zebrafish (Danio rerio) larvae following embryonic exposure to MgO nanoparticles

The aim of this study was to investigate the histopathological changes in zebrafish larvae following embryonic exposure to nanoparticles of magnesium oxide (MgONPs). The toxicity of metal oxide nanoparticles is attracting increasing attention. Among these nanomaterials, MgONPs are particularly interesting as a low cost and environmentally-friendly material. Histological investigations are used ...

Biochemical changes in carbohydrate metabolism of the fish – Cyprinus carpio during sub-lethal exposure to biopesticide – Derisom.

The effect of biopesticide - Derisom on certain metabolites and enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism were evaluated in gill, liver, kidney and muscle of Cyprinus carpio during sub-lethal toxicity exposure of 21 days. A dose of 0.28 ppm was taken as the sub-lethal dose. The organs were taken from exposed and control fish at the end of 24 hrs, 7, 14 and 21 days and used for the estimation of total ...

Effect of Sub-Lethal Exposure to Ultraviolet Radiation on the Escape Performance of Atlantic Cod Larvae (Gadus morhua)

UNLABELLED The amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation reaching the earth's surface has increased due to depletion of the ozone layer. Several studies have reported that UV radiation reduces survival of fish larvae. However, indirect and sub-lethal impacts of UV radiation on fish behavior have been given little consideration. We observed the escape performance of larval cod (24 dph, SL: 7.6±0.2 mm...
